Beth and I were sad to hear tonight about the passing of Coach Billy Tubbs. He was a wonderful storyteller and a kind gentleman. We never knew him when he was coaching but were blessed to meet him after. Prayers to our friend @ttrebound and Coach’s family.

Rest in peace, Billy Tubbs.

You’re the only opposing coach that ever made me want to come from the next to last row in Allen Fieldhouse all the way to courtside, just so I could land a punch on your sneering face.

But you were sure as hell were entertaining.

Rest In Peace to Coach Billy Tubbs. I’ve heard a lot of great stories about Coach Tubbs from my Pops @Coach_Al_Brooks. NCAA tournament stories and how he enjoyed playing for him at Lamar @LamarMBB. Thanks for helping my Pops “RoadRunner” become a Hall Of Famer!

Billy Tubbs was a significant part of me and many others enjoying college basketball. So many legendary moments and teams. OU-Loyola Marymount were among the first games my parents let me stay up late for. What a life RIP.

Oh, the stories I could tell about the incomparable Billy Tubbs! Tough, loving, devoted to family, single-minded, great memory for people, often impossible, true friend, loyal, brilliant. Did I say tough? Made the world a better place. Will miss him greatly.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Billy Tubbs, great coach and entertaining clinician.
Heard him at a clinic talking about the OU offense. “It’s pretty simple stuff…git da ball to Way-mone (Waymon Tisdale)…unless you have Way-mone, I wouldn’t bother running the OU offense
