Commenting on the news, a US State Department spokesperson confirmed today (Saturday) that two US citizens have disappeared in Haiti, commenting on the news.

A 16-year-old student of Cesar Chavez High School in Laveen has been hospitalized following a shooting on the campus Monday afternoon.

According to Phoenix Police Sgt. Ann Justus, the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation inside the bathroom of the campus at about 3:10 p.m. Responding officers say the teen sustained injuries that medical examiners deemed not life-threatening.

The shooter fled the scene before police arrival. “We believe this is an isolated incident, the school has a safety officer but wasn’t on campus. “They’re not housed on campus so they weren’t here at the time,” said Justus.

Justin also debunked the rumors of lockdown, she said the school was never placed on lockdown rather only afternoon activities at the school were moved or rescheduled, and will resume thoroughly on Tuesday.
