Over the past two years, Microsoft has tried hard to raise the assortment of first-party games by buying and establishing studios, and in the last years of the current generation it has succeeded in gaining the confidence of players after acquiring major studios such as Ninja Theory and launching the Xbox One X.

In the context of expanding its exclusive game base, The Information published a report indicating that Microsoft is now looking at the possibility of acquiring Warner Bros. Interactive, following a report from CNBC that parent AT&T is considering selling the WB's gaming division for about $4 billion in an effort to reduce about $154 billion in debt.

Buying WB Games will not be easy for Microsoft, as there are plenty of big companies entering this race such as Activision, Blizzard, Electronic Arts and Take-Two Interactive, which have also expressed interest in titles and large studios under the WB umbrella, which include Avalanche Software, NetherRealm Studios and Rocksteady. Studios, TT Games, and more.

Microsoft's purchase of the company means that future games such as LEGO and Harry Potter

And Just Cause, Batman, Mortal Kombat, and others can become exclusive to Xbox, especially since the PlayStation owns the title of Spider-Man, one of the most famous superheroes, and publishes it exclusively on the PlayStation 4, and the game “Marvel Spider-Man” is considered one of the most successful games of this generation, as it sold more than 13 million copies, what It makes Batman a tempting title to be acquired by Microsoft to get a piece of the superhero games cake, especially since the last Batman game was released in 2015, and Dark Knight fans are hungry for a new part.

Despite fierce competition between publishers to acquire Warner Bros. Interactive, it seems that Microsoft is the closest candidate to win this great package of developers, due to its strong desire to create a group of first-party studios that compete with what the PlayStation owns.

And the purchase of WB Interactive will greatly increase the number of developers for Xbox Game Studios. Microsoft has previously acquired a number of high-profile developers, including Ninja Theory, Obsidian, Double Fine, and others.
