Justo Gallego Death – Cause of Death – Justo Gallego Martínez, also known as Don Justo, passed away on the 28th of November 2021 at the age of 96. Don Justo was a Spaniard, popularly known for constructing a church building in the dimensions of a cathedral on his own in the town of Mejorada del Campo since 1961. Most of the building materials and tools used for construction were recycled or made from “junk”. Reports states that Don Justo dedicated the building to Our Lady of the Pillar (Nuestra Señora del Pilar).
Don Justo’s work received recognition in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is an art museum located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, on 53rd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Don Justo’s masterpiece was also the subject of the 2009 short documentary, Catedral and in 2016, he was featured in a two minute video on Great Big Story.
Factum Arte wrote in a tweet that Justo’s “…humour, intelligence and belief are an inspiration to us in Factum and to so many others…” He will be greatly missed. His cause of death was not revealed to the public at the time of this publication.
