A 29-year-old Southport man, and a 25-year-old Gold Coast man, and two adult females were arrested Friday in the Acacia Avenue area after a man was shot in a Southport unit, reports say.
Officials say a man, identified only as a 27-year-old male from Holland Park was driving on a hired 2020 black Mercedes Benz S450L at the Budds Beach. The vehicle was stolen by two unidentified men, police say he had met.
Investigation depicts that the victim was persuaded to come to the high-rise unit on Lawson Street for the vehicle’s return payment negotiation. An argument broke out resulting in the driver being shot to the leg and three men and a woman drove off with the Mercedes.
Officers were called to a business place at the end of Lawson Street, where the injured victim was located, and transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where is he expected to recover, the report says.
After investigation, the three suspects and another unidentified female were located and arrested at Acacia Avenue in Surfers Paradise at about 2:00 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
