Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that his country was subjected to about "25 million cyber attacks" during its hosting of the FIFA World Cup, without specifying the source of these attacks or whether individuals or programs were behind them.
"During the period of the World Cup, about 25 million information attacks and other criminal acts were confronted against media structures in Russia and were linked in one way or another to the World Cup," Putin said during a meeting with the security services (Sunday), according to what the Kremlin reported (Monday).
