The only American astronaut aboard the International Space Station, Robert Kemprad, cast his vote in the US presidential election yesterday. And the US Aeronautics and Space Administration, “NASA”, said that Shane Kemprad had fulfilled his electoral duty as a US citizen electronically.

Voting was deemed legal under a 1997 Texas law that allows astronauts, most of whom are residents of the state that is home to the Johnson Space Center, to cast their votes electronically while in space.

Kemperd is currently aboard the International Space Station with two Russian cosmonauts, and French astronaut Thomas Pesquet, American astronaut Peggy Whitson and Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky are expected to join them later this month.
