The atmosphere tensed again in front of the Central Bank of Lebanon in Beirut between the retired military and the security forces, due to the bank's circulars that the public sector lost "the value of its salaries."

And instead of the retired military and public sector employees flocking to collect their salaries on the 30th of the month, today (Thursday), a segment of them went to block the roads and turned the day into chaos in central Beirut that extended to the Hamra area where the Central Bank is, in unsuccessful attempts to storm the main gate of the bank. Let the round of anger end, as the previous one ended with threats and intimidation.

And a circular from the Lebanese Army Intelligence Directorate was leaked to the public asking the heads of the branches of the central directorate and branches of the regional intelligence to circulate to their military personnel not to receive their salaries for the month of April for the year 2023 before the issue of the “exchange” price is addressed at the appropriate price instead of 90 thousand Lebanese pounds.

According to the information, the circular circulated extensively among the military as of Thursday morning, especially since it was issued by the Intelligence Directorate – the administrative branch.
