An eight-year-old girl was swallowed by a water swamp in Al Naqaa Park in Suwairqiyah, and the information indicated that the Municipality of Medina had previously commissioned a municipality contractor to fill the swamp in the middle of the wild park.
Saud Al-Mutairi, a relative of the late girl Sarah, told “Okaz”: “The family came from Medina to Al-Suwairqiyah to visit relatives, and enjoy the spring atmosphere in Al-Naq’a Wild Park. She slipped into the water swamp, which is about two meters deep, and as soon as the family learned about the camp, her cousin rushed to the swamp and was able to retrieve the body.
For his part, the Director of Institutional Communication of the Red Crescent in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Region, Asim Saleh Al-Muzaini, stated that a communication was received from the Command and Control Room at exactly 14:55 on Saturday evening, and the communication was immediately passed to the Al-Suwairqiyah Ambulance Center, and the medical team arrived at the communication site at exactly 14:00: 57, and immediately the case was carried out, and it became clear that she was unconscious and her breathing and pulse had stopped, and attempts were made to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, then she was transferred to the nearest health facility, and at a later time large crowds spread the body of the child Sarah to her final resting place in the cemetery of Mahd al-Dahab.
Meanwhile, the head of communication and media at the Health Cluster in Madinah, Abd al-Rahman Hammouda, explained that the child arrived at the emergency room at Al-Mahd Hospital at 3:30 pm, and after examining her, it became clear that she had died before reaching the hospital, and medical teams tried to save her according to the medical protocol approved in such cases. cases, but attempts were unsuccessful.
It is noteworthy that “Okaz” published a report on 12/26/1442, on the people’s demand to fill the hole made by a contractor, titled “Al-Naq’a accuses the contractor of desertifying the park.” The Municipality issued a warning to the contractor and assigned him to treat the hole and rectify the situation, two years ago to date. The hole still exists and the contractor has not filled it in, to form a water swamp in the rainy seasons.
