Co-operation instead of competition, being able to help others when they need assistance, acknowledging the right of each person to their own opinion, these are all examples of decisions that help create peace and harmony for yourself and others.

By looking beyond the selfish ego mind, your awareness expands as you feel your connection with everything in life. If you have conflicts or stress with what you are doing, stop and look at it closely. Examine your beliefs about it, if what you’re doing at work or home is stressful, ask yourself why? What beliefs are you projecting that make it stressful? Sometimes just the clarity of why you think a certain way is enough to turn around the experience. You may not enjoy what you’re doing, but you may be able to bring the surrender of acceptance to it that will change your attitude toward it. If the task is extremely distasteful or dangerous then you need to change and move away from it. There will no growth if your mind is in a state of confusion and constant stress.

The two phases of experience are recognition and reaction. These two processes work together back and forth continually creating your definition of the world and yourself. Your version of the world is created by individual beliefs and collective beliefs within society. The diversity you see in cultures and nations around the world is based on centuries of individual beliefs transforming into collective beliefs. It is up to you to start examining your beliefs to see if they serve your highest and best good. The litmus test for beliefs is whether they create peace and harmony or do they create stress and conflict for everyone who is involved with that belief.
