The Syrian poet and thinker Ali Ahmed Saeed (Adonis) affirmed that the kingdom's cultural and literary heritage gives it a first place in poetry, and that he sees in the desert its deep Arab extension, with its enormous energy of legacy and secrets. The owner of “The Music of the Blue Whale” appreciated his invitation to visit the Kingdom, explaining the importance of culture in promoting the humanization of peoples, while revealing his relationship to space, time and man through three spaces, presenting an exciting and rich biography that spans about nine decades and summarized it on the stage of the Palace of Culture in the Diplomatic Quarter in 40 minutes.
The dialogue varied based on questions, starting with a question about some details of his life, and the reason for choosing the name "Adonis", passing through questions of great sensitivity; Including his position on the Syrian revolution, and his vision of the literary and poetic scene in the Kingdom. And he talked about a number of issues, while he did not miss the opportunity without talking about his modernist project, as well as modernity and the contemporary Arab poetic estrangement, and the internal music of the non-vertical text, or the texts of taflih.
While intellectuals gleefully appreciated the decision to invite the poet Adonis to be among his readers and followers. Writer Waheed Al-Ghamdi said: “This scene could not have come true more than 10 years ago, despite Adonis himself’s statements of his desire to visit the Kingdom at the time.” He added, "Everyone is happy to meet this symbol that was forbidden to us before meeting him," stressing that the hall of the "Palace of Culture" was filled with a large presence from various segments of the cultural community in the Kingdom and from several cities as well.
