META intends to launch new features for the most popular instant messaging application, WhatsApp, that allow messages to be read only once, with the aim of enhancing users' privacy and maintaining the security of their mutual information.

This feature is useful for hiding sent texts after reading them for the first time, when exchanging sensitive information, such as secret codes to access Wi-Fi, for example.

It is likely that the application will block the possibility of taking a screenshot of messages intended for viewing once to protect information, as it currently does with images and videos sent for viewing once.

The new feature is still under development. It has not yet been released even on the beta version of WhatsApp. It is not known how long it will take to put it up for testing on the beta version and then launch it on the official version of the WhatsApp application.
