With the departure of journalist and writer Thamer Al-Maiman yesterday, after a bitter struggle with illness, one of the elegant journalistic inks in the Saudi media dried up, after touching for many years the concerns of people in his graceful nature, without twisting his serious contents, or defrauding his specific goals in one way or another, the grief of grief The afflicted and their division of worries on the sidewalks of life, he wrote from them and for them the “sideburns” of the toilers and their wishes.

He used to sign his journalistic column with “My sustenance is on God,” dissolving from the bounty of grace and manna, escaping from the shackles of sustenance and the authority of others. He wrote without calculations and nepotism, saying whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted within his spacious limits and on the map of his satirical articles and the terrain of his focused criticism.

Al-Maiman wrote a “group of sorrows” from his reality and his society, and he wrote for himself honesty and boldness, diagnosing the “lying loggia” and fighting those who drowned in it.

Al-Maiman has a boldness that accommodates many issues, but he used to admit that the creative writer has an obsession and constant hesitation, which makes the text in its entirety a shy, calm and perhaps withered text, which is quickly dissipated by credibility with the soul and the pen. He used to describe his books as poor, despite their rich stock and deep content.

He wrote stories and poetry, and crowned his poems with a text he wrote for his mother, in which he said, “Him, I would like to tell people… about smell, about heartbreak, about feeling… about a lifetime filled with despair… I want to tell them… I make them laugh… I make them cry, about tears and a night Fear… about the story, letters by letters, about wounds that travel with me… and ascend and then transform me like other races. Al-Maiman moved as a writer in Saudi newspapers from the country to “Okaz” and other stations between them. He sparked controversy with his bold proposal and was strongly present on the social and creative scene.

Al-Maiman, who closed his last closing yesterday and was buried in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, his interest in writing began to appear, from the beginning of his youth, when he corresponded with some Lebanese newspapers and magazines, and after graduating from the university, he has a special interest in poetry and published many of his popular and lyrical poems, which were published in an album My poetry, as well as many striking poems in local newspapers and magazines. A collection of his articles was published in a book on Dar Al-Morsa for Publishing and Distribution in Ramadan 1421 AH, and he conducted many press interviews during his work as editor-in-chief of Al-Madina newspaper.
