The President of the Saudi Football Association, Yasser Al-Mishal, revealed the goals of the Federation for the next stage, revealing a strategy that was developed and launched nearly two years ago, with the main goal of the Saudi national team being in the top 20 teams in the world.
Al-Mishal said in a special statement to Okaz: This matter requires great effort and double work, adding that all these initiatives and plans will be implemented to strive – God willing – to reach this goal. He stated that it would be available, several days before the elections, to make an electoral program, since if the candidate is alone, then an electoral program must be made that the General Assembly is convinced of in order to choose the candidate. Today, there is only one list, but nevertheless, a program will be arranged – God willing – that is not an electoral program as much as it is a clarification of the goals that we will seek to achieve in the next stage.
And about the possibility of changing the training school from the European continent, Al-Mishal said: Everything is permissible, and we do not care which training school the coach belongs to, rather we care that he is characterized by competence and keeps pace with our ambition as a federation to lead the team in order to continue achieving achievements that keep pace with the ambition of the Saudi fans, and the school will not be Training is an essential criterion for selection.
Al-Mishal expressed his appreciation for the generous and great support that they enjoy from the wise leadership, pointing to the need for the federation and the Saudi football sector to keep pace with the huge developmental leaps that the Kingdom enjoys in general.
