The Shura Council welcomed the positive results issued at the conclusion of the summit that brought together the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and President Donald Trump of the United States of America in Riyadh.
In a statement read out at the beginning of its thirty-seventh regular session of the work of the first year of the seventh session, which was held today, Monday, headed by Council President Sheikh Dr. between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America in a number of areas and will be supportive of efforts to stabilize and enhance regional and global security and stability.
The Council also affirmed that US President Donald Trump's choice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as his first stop on his foreign visit is evidence of the Kingdom's position in the world and the importance it represents to all Muslims, and the influential political weight occupied by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz at the regional level. And globally he gained it over the years. The Shura Council praised the signing of the joint strategic vision between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, as it is a turning point in relations and will move relations from the strategic dimension and partnership to a higher and higher level through the intensification of consultation and cooperation processes. It will also have an important economic dimension in support of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
In its statement, the Council noted the convening of the seventeenth consultative meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, which confirmed the solidarity of the GCC states and their communication in order to preserve the security of their countries and the prosperity of their peoples. It also noted the Riyadh Declaration that was issued at the conclusion of the Arab-Islamic-American Summit hosted by Riyadh.
The Council indicated that the convening of these summits in Riyadh demonstrated the wisdom and sophistication of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, as a political leader, and the appreciation he enjoys from the leaders of the Arab, Islamic and major countries, which contributed to the convening of these important summits in this short time and their exit with good results laid a brick. To build a strong Arab Islamic American partnership.
The Shura Council affirmed that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques showed the world some of the strengths that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia possesses, pointing out that the convening of these summits at this level demonstrated the Kingdom’s ability, influence, and the importance it represents to all Muslims, and the influential political weight it occupies at the level of the region and the world. At the global level, it is based on a consistent policy that is committed to the principles of international laws, support for legitimate rights, consolidation of principles of justice and equality, and the protection and promotion of human rights.
In its statement, the Council indicated that the Riyadh Declaration issued at the conclusion of the Arab-Islamic-American Summit translated the firm determination to build a solid strategy to strengthen partnership in confronting extremism and terrorism and work to spread the values of tolerance and coexistence and enhance security, stability and cooperation in a way that serves the peoples of the Arab and Islamic worlds and the world as a whole. The Riyadh Declaration established a unified stance to confront terrorism and ward off the Iranian threat and terrorist organizations.
In this regard, the Council praised the participation of the countries of the world in the inauguration of the global center in Riyadh to combat extremist ideology, and its strategic goals that will establish a firm foundation for combating terrorism and cutting off its financing.
The Council concluded its statement by emphasizing that the "Etidal" Center is an indication of the Kingdom's renewed determination to combat terrorism and extremist ideology in all its forms and manifestations, and a firm step based on a solid will that gathers the countries of the world to stand up to extremist ideology and combat it at all levels.
