A great loss was made known to InsideEko.Long Beach Paralympian Angela Madsen has died, at the age of 60 rowing alone across the Pacific Ocean. Angela represented team USA at three Paralympic Games won the bronze medal in the shot put at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, and also became the first woman with a disability to row across the Atlantic Ocean. She was an extraordinary athlete, kind woman and an athlete mentor, she was so loved by so many.
Friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Angela Madsen.
I am so sorry to hear about Angela Madsen. She was, and will always be, a legend. And it could have happened to any of us. She was the most accomplished and experienced ocean rowers. I am sending love and respect into the heavens tonight. I am honored to have met her.
