Asya Bryant I think of you everyday but on today i choose not to be sad and bitter but I choose to better than I was yesterday and grateful. Grateful more than ever for the time we spent together, your hugs, kisses, your mischievous laugh, your outlook on the world, our breakthroughs, your unwavering support, resilency, unconditonal love, the way you gave what you could even the moments of silence and stillness you had.
Thru this I’ve learned so much! And I could never stop learning from all your lessons of love. You have made me a better man, son and father and I still feel you here guiding me in my day to days to be better. I’m thankful for the relationship with your family in particular your mother and I pray for her strength knowing she has loss her mother and only daughter all in the same year. Life is hard. In my own ignorance I feel like I am just learning that the sun will set on us all one day. It just wasn’t suppose to be this soon.
I hold in my heart so many moments the time we first met and the smile you gave when I told the story as if it was your first time hearing it – everytime, The proposal, all the mini-milestones, the time it was trending to post selfies of what people would look like when you got older but only you laughed because when we did it you didnt seem to age only me then for you to joke that you would turn down my hearing aids but by then it wouldnt have mattered because as your husband I had selective hearing anyways. And Alllll the times you got stopped by strangers no matter where and what we were doing to tell you how beautiful you were like that time the two little girls who thought you were so pretty and no older than 5-7yrs old they stopped us in the street to do your makeup and you actually sat down let them and spent time with them and Those times we listened to gospel music on sundays and acknowledged that god has been good to us; then we would profess our love.
You had such a desire to be better everyday for us, your family and friends. You were perfectly imperfect . Baby girl, you have moved from labor to reward. You have earned your wings. God created you in his likeness and image and now you sit next to the greatest artist of all-time. Thank you isn’t enough. I will always love you. -melly
