Ironically we lost a great teacher on Election Eve. I’m honored to have met the great 1 & only Dr. Barry Flinchbaugh. He taught @KYAgLeadership the difference between kings & kingmakers. March 2019, I asked & he predicted who would win the election. @kyagleader @kstateagecon

Dr. Flinchbaugh will be missed. Barry, long affiliated with Kansas State University, died this morning in Topeka. As an ag economist friend shared this evening, “Such a loss at election time. He would have had comments galore, for sure.

Barry is a legend, and was a friend and mentor. The shockwave of his death will be felt for years, and his teachings will be that of folklore. R.I.P. Dr. Flinchbaugh. Thanks for everything!

Kansas State University ag economist Dr. Barry Flinchbaugh has passed away unexpectedly. Here’s the one & only interview opportunity I had with him last fall at the @NDBankers conference.

As a NU AgEcon grad, I admired Dr. Flinchbaugh’s Ag policy work and distinctively entertaining teaching style. It was my privilege to hear him speak at conferences a few times and I was never disappointed. Thanks Dr. Barry for helping me see the world differently. RIP

Today the #agpolicy world lost a giant and many many of us lost a mentor. Barry Flinchbaugh was truly one of a kind. He took us all in and gave freely of his advice, his experience, and his big ol heart. Bless all those who mourn his loss. @kstateagecon
