Yesterday, Class of 2019 Pineville High School graduate & Pineville Men’s Basketball alumni Ben Goodin tragically lost his life. Everyone involved with @PinevilleMBB would like to offer up our sincere, heartfelt thoughts & prayers to Ben’s family & friends during this time. This tragedy has deeply affected everyone in our program, school & community. Ben’s coach while at Pineville, James David Strange, had this to say reflecting on Ben’s life, “as a teacher, coach, and parent you are presented with opportunities each day to have an impact on kids. I believe that most people would agree that a lot of times those kids can have an even bigger impact on US! We learn from THEM. We learn how to talk to people. We learn how to treat people. We learn what being a good friend looks like and sounds like. These are all things we can learn from BEN! His personality, attitude, and character really made him special! I was fortunate enough not only to have Ben as an 8th grader but also have the opportunity to coach Ben through high school and see him grow into the young man he eventually became. He has without a doubt made an impact on my life and I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to KNOW him and LEARN from him! No words can describe how much he will be missed! Prayers for his family and friends!“
