Old age can be daunting sometimes especially when we remember all the chances we lost, our greatest regrets then is not in how much we failed to achieve in possession rather our main regret is that our lives was not significant enough to create positive impact on others. This is so because at such age, many have come to become more spiritual than material hence they understand thee value of integrity and living a life that has meaning and value on society. Then the realisation of the absurdity of the mad pursuit for material possessions begins to hunt those whose early life was marked by this and other nonsensical pursuits.

In all, there comes a high degree of desire to impact on the younger generation from the wealth of understanding knowledge and wisdom acquired. This responsibility of transmitting this knowledge is what actually qualifies us as “grand” dad, mum uncle or aunty. Without this we are just cranky or disgruntled old people awaiting the cold hands of death to transport us to the next stage.

But we have a choice a now, now that we are young, we have the choice of living that life where we take every chance we have to create impact for society. This is a tall order but if we must live a life without regrets at old age then we will ride the storm now.

Chances are all around us, a warm smile, a kind gesture, a friendly attitude, brotherliness that transcends religious difference, tolerance for others irrespective of differing opinion.

Life is one, the same energy created us all, humanity is one hence lets use every chance to create that oneness.

Cheers
