A scientific team from the Institute of Cancer Research in London seeks to send cancer cells, which are samples from metastatic pontine internal glioma, to the International Space Station to see how it spreads in conditions of microgravity. The launch is expected to take place in 2025, and experiments will be conducted on board the space station, according to Russia Today. Scientists said this could pave the way for understanding more about the disease.
"The past years have revolutionized our understanding of these tumors, with exciting new potential therapies," said Chris Jones, lead author of the study.
