Cari Smith Obituary

Cari Smith Found Dead – Who Killed Cari Smith/What Happened To Cari Smith, Cari Smith Funeral:  Reports from the North Royalton police department are saying; 50-year-old Richard Munice of Parma is a suspect in the death of innocent Cari Smith whose body was found in a landfill Friday 25 June 2021, in Geneva Township, Kane County, Illinois.

According to officials Richard is said to have had a relationship with Cari Smith before her death.

“On Friday, June 25th, 2021, mid-morning, officers of the North Royalton Police Department responded to a Royal Oaks apartment on a welfare check of the female resident who had not reported to work as usual. The resident was found absent from the home where she lived alone. Suspicious activity was noted at the scene consistent with an abduction. An investigation began at the apartment location with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisting with evidence collection. This resident/missing person was identified as Cari Smith, age 50. Ms. Smith’s vehicle was found missing from her garage unit. With assistance from an OnStar feature, the victim’s vehicle was located in Geauga County. Geauga County Sheriff’s Office further assisted with stopping the vehicle and the arrest of the subject as the driver. The victim’s body was not found in the vehicle but later discovered at an Ashtabula County landfill in Geneva, Ohio (Waste Management, Tuttle Road). The subject was identified as Richard Muncie, age 50, of Parma, Ohio. Discoveries in the vehicle were also consistent with the body having been transported from North Royalton to Fairport Harbor, by the subject in the victim’s vehicle, where it appeared the body was initially dumped before being taken to the landfill. It also appeared that the victim likely was killed in her home and all facets of the death had occurred on this day.
The investigation revealed that the victim and the subject knew each other, but their relationship was not fully understood at this time. They were not living together. Recent complaints and reports had suggested a strained relationship. Initial observations suggest that the victim was killed by blunt force.
The subject has been charged with murder. He currently is under arrest at North Royalton Police Department and an initial hearing has been scheduled through Parma Municipal Court. Cuyahoga County Prosecutors Office and North Royalton Police Department are working together on the case. Assistance on the case has been rendered by a number of other county agencies including the Sheriff Offices of Ashtabula and Geauga Counties, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Medical Examiner’s Offices of Ashtabula County and Cuyahoga County.”
