Celebration of mediocrity.
There are two factors that create a hishonest person out of a honest person. One is the question “How are you”, to which honest people always answer “am fine” even when everything in his life just collasped.
The second and most disturbing factor that makes people dishonest is political affiliation. When a person joins a political party,somehow, his rational thinking ability shuts down,everything the other party people do is wrong and everything his own party people does is right. Religion principles has no role here,because that matter is in another “app” which is opened only when around the religious head or when in religious homes.
Now tell me why people should celebrate mediocrity and inconsistence as displayed by their leaders, what is responsible for the act that we see everyday,why would a person you think has high moral standard argue blindly and support mediocrity from his leaders. When you watch some people argue,you will wander why play store does not have the app called “thinking faculty” or maybe these people have the app installed but its just that a virus always shuts down the app from working.
Else what else could be responsible for why a well meaning Nigerian should come to social media to celebrate that one congressman has left party and is now in the opposing party. So the party he left has a greater chance to fail because he has left.
This makes me wonder if the nigerian people understand what our problems are and how to solve these problems as a nation.
One day i was in a discussion where someone daid that Nigerians are not matured enough to decide who is best for them. As at when this guy said this stuff,i argued with him but i dont know if i will still have points to support my stand when i take into consideration the fact that people celebrate lack of political principle and values oriented ideology.
Maybe it may not be very wrong to say that,we that are beaing lead are worse than our leaders.
This may not be too wrong, ? why.
In the preamble to the american constitution,it was stated that
” instituted Government derive their just powers from the consent of the governed”
The consent here implies the value we cherish,exeplify and tolorate as a people.
By driving principles,it is wrong to jump from one line to another when in traffic.
In every religion,it is wrong to move from one sect to another within the same religion,its worse to change religion.
In our career life,it is not right to move from one endeavour to another(today,a mechanic,tumor a marketer,the very next week a petruem marketer,next year a capenter,9months later,a contractor).
Even in a family,no parent will like their children to keep changing friends or alternating between friends.
In our marriage life,nobody will accept his spouse to divorce him/her,go to another person and later come back when the new person refuses to give him/her what s/he wants.
So if in these little personal affairs,we dont encourage inconsistence,why then do we celebrate it in our leaders.
We as a people need to understand that there is no diffrence between all the political parties in Nigeria,they are the same,manned by the same people,using the same methods to acquire the power to rule,meeting in the same joint to drink expensive wines while the stupid commoner comes to social media to rant about what one politicktian said about the other one.
In civilised climes,when a leader is talking,you will know where he is coming from because you can trace his ideology from his discussion.
But here, the only way you can understand which party a politicktian belongs to when he is talking is that you will see that he attacks the other party people.
Anyway 2019 is around the corner,i pray some thinking fellow,builds and upload the app “thinking faculty” to playstore so people can go download it and think out a solution to our pitiable state.
Or could this attitude be a symtom of psychophancy .
If that is the issue then let us all start praying against psychophancy in 2019,who knows maybe God will answer our prayer
