In the wake of the landslide victory achieved by the Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, so far, over his rival Hillary Clinton in winning the vote, a number of celebrities threatened to leave the United States of America if Trump won the US presidency.
According to CNN, the celebrities gave their initial reactions as follows:
International singer Cher
The singer posted a tweet on her Twitter account, saying, "If Trump wins, I will move to Jupiter."
Actor Bryan Cranston
"If Trump wins, I will definitely move on," said "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston. "It doesn't sound real to me, and I hope to God it doesn't."
Comedian Amy Schumer
Comedian Amy Schumer said she would go to Spain if Trump won. "My comedy show will change," she said. Because I will need to learn Spanish when I go to the country, or somewhere. I can't fathom the possibility of Trump winning. It's very crazy.”
Actress Chelsea Handler
Like her colleague Schumer, comedian Chelsy Handler said she is also considering moving to Spain if Trump wins, and that she already has a home there.
Singer and actress Barbra Streisand
Iconic superstar Barbra Streisand said she worries about the US election: "I'll either go to America if I'm allowed in, or Canada."
Comedian Lena Dunham
Comedian Lena Dunham said she would go to Vancouver, Canada, if Trump won. "I know a lot of people have threatened to do this, but I really will," she said.
Singer Ne-Yo
Singer Ne-Yo said he would go to Canada and spend time with fellow Canadian singer Drake: "If Clinton loses, I will move to Canada immediately, and I will be Drake's neighbor if Donald Trump becomes president."
