HELBY CO., Ala. (WBRC) – On Friday morning, Authorities pronounced an 18-year-old dead following a fatal car accident that happened in Shelby County 11. The officials are yet to release the identity of the victim pending the notification of next of kin.
The preliminary investigation stated by the officials revealed that a vehicle driven by the Chelsea teenager was moving down along Shelby County 11, about 5 miles west of Pelham, for unstated reasons, the vehicle veered off the road and crashed with a tree.
Authorities got calls regarding the crash and dispatch officials to the scene. Upon their arrival, they pronounced the solo occupant of the vehicle dead at the scene. It was stated that the victim sustained fatal injuries from the accident.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is still investigating the cause of the accident.
