Such a tragic loss in Trimble County. 17 year old Cheyanne Ward died when the car she was riding in slid off a road. KSP told me she had her seatbelt on, and rain after a long dry spell likely made the road very slick. Trimble County High reminds me of my high school. Classes around 75 kids. Everyone knows everyone. They had just started in person classes Monday. This story brought back the pain of losing a high school classmate for me. Cheyanne was Vice President of her class and active in many organizations. Pray for her family, friends and classmates. Such a reminder that every day is a precious gift.
Dear Trimble County Schools Community,
There are no words to convey the sadness that overshadows Trimble County Schools on this day. Our community has suffered a tremendous loss. Today, I grieve as a mother and as a Superintendent and I pray for God to lift up our school district and community as we mourn the loss of one of our students. Our hearts are heavy over the tragic loss of Trimble Co. Senior High student Cheyanne Ward. On the eve of September 29th, Cheyanne was involved in a tragic car accident that took her life, much too soon.
Cheyanne was a 17 yr. old Senior who was very active in the school community. She was involved in numerous activities and was a natural leader in her class and the school. Cheyanne was the Senior Vice President, Co-President of the Y-Club, Member of Kentucky Youth Assembly, Junior State of America, Kentucky United Nations Assembly, Future Business Leaders of America, BETA Club, All A Honor Roll, Drama Club and was a Governor’s Scholar recipient. Cheyanne was friendly, caring and very passionate about service leadership. She always showed school spirit, volunteered her time and was committed to helping to improve her school in any way possible. Cheyanne Ward will always hold a special place in our hearts and will be remembered as a beautiful young lady, inside and out.
At this time, service arrangements are pending, but we will update our page when we become informed of those decisions. Our community has suffered a tremendous loss and we extend our heartfelt condolences to Cheyanne’s family, friends and loved ones during the difficult days ahead. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Jessica Wilcoxson
