A toddler and a man have been hospitalized following a shooting Monday afternoon in northwest Fresno.
Officials responded on receiving a ShotSpotter alert in the area of Fairmont and Holt Avenues at approximately 3:30 p.m. Monday. Preliminary investigations determined that an altercation broke out between some persons inside a car and some bystanders in the area. The argument escalated to multiple shots being fired.
Authorities say a man was bruised slightly by a bullet and a child sustained injuries to the head after he was pushed to the ground as multiple people were scampered for their lives. Responding officers transported the child to an area hospital in a stable condition.
Some people of interest were taken into custody.
