A man in China has been sentenced to six months in prison for frightening 1,100 chickens to death in a dispute with his neighbour. The strange case began in April last year when the man, surnamed Joe, was upset that his neighbor, surnamed Zhong, had cut down his trees without informing him, and in response, Joe, who is from Hengyang County in south-central China's Hunan Province, infiltrated the master's chicken farm. It was not clear what Zhou's intention was, but the court in Henjiang Province heard that one night, the man used a flashlight to frighten chickens, according to the state-run China Daily newspaper, causing the birds to be cornered and 460 of them to be crushed to death. This decision made Joe, even more angry, to return to Chung's farm again to repeat his actions, which this time led to the death of 640 chickens.
