The poet Abd al-Majid al-Dhiabi wrote a tweet in which he mourned the late: “The media cousin Badr al-Awwad, may God have mercy on him, passed away. O Allah, have mercy on him, and make what befell him an atonement for him, and purify him from sins and transgressions, as a white garment is purified from filth. O Allah, replace him with a better home than his home, and a better family than his family.”

A colleague in the “Okaz” office in Medina, Abdul Hadi Al-Soyyan, said: “We belong to God and to Him we shall return. May God have mercy on our colleague Badr Al-Awwad and make him dwell in his spacious gardens. Our condolences to his family, relatives and all his fans, praying to God to inspire them with great patience and solace.
While the editor-in-chief of the electronic newspaper, Al-Wi'am, Nayef Al-Mushait, wrote: "We ask God to bless our dear brother Badr Al-Awwad with the abundance of his mercy and to dwell him in his spacious gardens."
Journalist Ayman Al-Ghabiwi also wrote: “After suffering from illness, a loyal friend, the Saudi journalist Badr Al-Awwad, who worked for “Okaz” and “Al-Watan”, passed away. During his life, he sought to serve his country by writing hundreds of news and articles.
And “Okaz”, which was pained by the departure of colleague Badr Al-Awwad, extends its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, praying to God to forgive him and have mercy on him and dwell him in his spacious gardens, and inspire his family, relatives and loved ones patience and solace, and bind their hearts and comfort their affliction.
