He was not like a brother; he was my brother. He was always there, arms ready for a hug during my first heartbreak and a high five when I accomplished something great. And, that smile- that mischievous beautiful smile that would unarm you and tell you that everything is just fine. My mom would always say Dan was her favorite child because when we got yelled at, which was often, his abysmal Lao meant that he didn’t talk back; he would hug my little Asian mom and tell her “okay, sorry, we will stay out of trouble” with a chuckle and twinkle in his eye. I can spend years talking about this beautiful soul but I’ll just say this; we love you, we miss you and we will meet again. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.”

As many of you are hearing an amazing man was taken to heaven last night.
Daniel Lockie was a father to 2 beautiful daughters Aliyah & Alexis and step Dad to Mason, Kaidyn & Mackenlee, a son, a brother, a loyal friend, a grandfather and the man I had the opportunity to share my life with, to build a family with and to create a legacy with for 11 years.
Daniel was involved in a horrific car accident last night in Arizona a few blocks from home. There are not a ton of details for anyone at this time nor do we even know if he was the driver at this time. This hurts and has impacted so many individuals on so many different levels.
Daniel and I may have recently in the months divorced but that never waivered the genuine love we shared in our hearts for each other, our kids, our family, and our friends.
I have so many things to say yet my brain isn’t properly functioning and I don’t know how to capture them appropriately at this time in a way that will capture the love we all have for Dan and the impact he had on so many individuals he loved.
A celebration of life will take place at some point in the near future close friends and family will be notified when that happens. For now, we simply are processing and everyone is grieving the loss of someone truly special.. Tomorrow we will work towards more answers and a plan of action.
