Suspect arrested in the shooting death of Clarence Avant’s wife Jacqueline Avant
Jacqueline Avant Death : 29-year-old Aariel Maynor has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of Clarence Avant’s wife Jacqueline Avant after he was captured on surveillance cameras fleeing the scene in a vehicle heading eastbound from Beverly Hills.
Beverly Hills Police say Maynor shot himself to the foot during the Wednesday incident. An hour after the shooting death of Jacqueline, another shooting was reported in the Hollywood Hills, near the Griffith Observatory.
Preliminary investigations revealed that officials with the Los Angeles Police Department responded and located Maynor at the scene with a gunshot wound to the foot. Detectives believed Maynor shot himself while attempting to burgle a residence.
81-year-old Jackie was shot and killed inside the couple’s Trousdale Estates home in Beverly Hills Wednesday morning. Clarence was not injured during the attack.
Authorities say he was armed with an AR-15 and was taken into custody from the scene after Beverly Hills Police Department collected evidence connecting Maynor to the home invasion of the Avant’s home.
Officials also determined that Maynor had an extensive criminal record dating back to 2013, and was once convicted for robbery and grand theft. He also got probation for a domestic violence case.
