I am saddened to hear of the passing of a friend and dedicated civic leader – Dr. Dimitrios G. Kyriazopoulos, or “Dr. K” as he was commonly known.
Throughout his life, Dr. K devoted his energy to promoting the Hellenic voice within the United States. Dr. K established the United Hellenic Voters of America in 1973 to bring together Greek Americans and provide a platform to be represented within our government.
His legacy and impact will live on well beyond his years. My prayers are with Dr. K’s stepdaughter Kiki Stamatiou Whitehead and the rest of his family at this difficult time. May his memory be eternal.
