Unfortunately news for our cinema! Elia K. Schneider, director and producer of Venezuelan cinema – awarded at important Festivals for her films – also Schneider began at a very young age in dance and classical ballet. Then choreographer and directed theater for several years.

The Stella Adler Academy of Acting & Theatre – Los Angeles mourns the loss of our Faculty Member and dear friend – Elia K. Schneider.Elia created and developed our Adler In Spanish Program, and built it through the years into a highly respected and sought after class. People came from around the world to study with Elia at our school. She was a powerful force who always fought for art. She had deep respect for, and understanding of, Stella’s work, and Elia taught that work with passion and immense depth. She truly transformed her students, and had a powerful and lasting influence on their acting – and in their lives.
In fact, Elia impacted all of our lives, mine included. She was so supportive of our Creative Home, and she was always there to lend an ear and give encouragement whenever I needed it. Elia will be very missed by so many.
We will remember Elia Schneider with love always.
We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
