So sad to hear of Eugene McCabe’s passing. Such a beautiful writer and lovely man. Had the pleasure of interviewing him some years ago for The Monaghan Post. “Death and Nightingales” is one of my favourite books – such descriptive writing. RIP #EugeneMcCabe

Eugene McCabe’s parents returned to the area during WWII & continue to be part of our community. He is survived by his wife Margot, his children, Ruth, Marcus, Patrick & Stephen & 13 grandchildren.
There will be Covid Restrictions at his funeral in Sacred Heart Church Clones.
