Christopher C. Gibbs Death – Cause of Death – Christopher C. Gibbs passed away on the 11th of November 2021. He died at the age of 78. Christopher C. Gibbs, a member of the University of Oklahoma College of Architecture’ Class of 1967. Gibbs was popular for his success in the home construction and development industry, as well as his exceptional generosity to his beloved alma mater.
Gibbs was the founder of two successful home construction and land development companies. A long-time supporter of OU, in 2017 he provided the largest gift in the history of the College of Architecture, which now bears his name. Gibbs received numerous regional and national awards for his service to the world.
According to OU Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture, in 2017, Gibbs was given the OU Regents’ Alumni Award in recognition of his superior dedication to OU and in 2020, he received an honorary degree from the University of Oklahoma. He was greatly acknowledged for his design, merchandising, marketing and sales excellence. A memorial service is planned for Friday, November 19th, with a reception to follow at the Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach, California.
