The grief of Fawzi Mahsoun has been raging on the ears of exceptional taste for extended generations. It did not drop him for a moment from the list of the pillars of Saudi art and his own, not only because he dances the melody on the shrines of love and plays it on the chord of romance, but also because he poured out the value of his high melody on the throats of giants and the pens of creators, without favoritism or Materials scratch the pride of his art and the originality of his songs. Mahsoun, whose name hid behind the glow of his immortal works that were sung by great Arab singers. His biography did not stop sounding admiration bells in people’s memory and hearts. The late Talal Maddah saw him as his base and wing soaring in the sky of romantic singing, while the poet Soraya Qabil described it as an artistic position. Independent and a unique situation that was exploding with passion and creativity, which made this duo a triangle of identical feelings and similar greatness.
“Sayed Al-Shajn” as his fans know him passed away three decades ago after a busy march, during which he was a driver of the singing compass, observing with his precise indicators the trends of sophistication, at a time when he and his two partners, Talal Maddah and Thuraya Qabil, were not spared from the obstacles of privacy, extremism and capabilities, so they penetrated with their creativity, stabbing the side of stagnation and riding the knees of the sublime. In an artistic arena replete with the presence of Kawkab al-Sharq, Abd al-Wahhab, Rami, Qabbani, and others, and their collective works were and still are the most ingrained in memory after the “Era of Passion” brought them together “after joking and playing” and ending with “Oh my life, my eyes.”
Fawzi Mahsoun contributed to the consolidation of purity in Saudi art. He was not hijacked by the luster of fame or tempted by the authority and love of people. He preferred to be a student and distanced himself from monopoly. He presented to Arab artist Muhammad Abdo distinguished works, and others.
