As Chair of the County Selection Committee Fergus played a massive part in many of our players rugby careers.

A personal tribute to Ferguson King MBE.
The death of Fergus earlier today following a long fight with cancer robs Rugby Union in general and Durham rugby in particular of a loyal, dedicated and hard working friend who selflessly devoted his life to the game and the countless players who passed through Durham University, Durham City and Durham County ranks.
Fergus was a doer, a skilled coach and a hugely respected figurehead who touched the hearts and minds of the rugby fraternity far beyond the boundaries of his native Durham County. His tireless work was rewarded with numerous trophies for Durham University, City and County along with his personal awards.
Everyone that knew Fergus had a rugby story to tell regarding his antics and endeavors. These stories will continue to amuse and inspire rugby people for many years to come.
His popularity amongst all generations of the rugby family in Durham is unrivaled. I know Fergus will be remembered with great fondness and respect by all that came into contact with him.
