A Tunisian soccer player set himself on fire after a dispute with a banana seller.
Radio Mosaique revealed that the Aghlabid Unit for Surgical Specialties affiliated to Ibn El-Jazzar University Hospital in Kairouan received football player Nizar Awesawi, who suffered third-degree burns after he poured gasoline on his body and then set it on fire.
The Director of Kairouan Health, Dr. Muammar Al-Hajji, said: The injured person is in the process of receiving first aid, pending his transfer to the severe burns center in the governorate of Ben Arous.
It is noteworthy that Al-Issawi posted a video on his official Facebook page, in which he documented the suicide attempt, stressing that the reason for setting fire to his body was after he was falsely accused of a terrorist case, following a dispute between him and a banana seller.
