Scientists at the University of Southern California have discovered a new treatment for deafness caused by loud noise, which causes the inner ear to be filled with fluid, by injecting the ear with a salt solution in specific proportions, which reverses the accumulation of fluid within 3 hours. According to the British newspaper “The Sun”, Professor John Ogalay said: “The solution provides treatment for other diseases of the inner ear, such as Meniere’s disease, which is a disorder that affects hearing and balance.” Ogalay and his team plan to conduct more research into the details of fluid buildup and nerve cell death, followed by clinical trials of innovation to prevent complete deafness.
