Today I have lost a one of my best friends, his name is Francis Stockwell, but to many he was know simply as Stockie. I’m just heartbroken that i won’t meet or see this guy again, we shared so much together. I was never any good with words, so hopefully these pictures i have of him show the many sides of him in a small way. Stockie my friend I will miss you as many others will too.

Saddened to hear the passing of Francis Stockwell last night.
Known to us all from Tuam as “Stockie” He leaves me with some great memories from our days playing for Tuam Stars and Tuam Celtic, He was a gifted footballer and a true kind fun loving Gentleman. Rip my friend.

Very sad to hear off the sad passing off one off our own
Francis ‘stockie’ Stockwell stockie was well known around the town as a painter and then caretaker of st jarlaths he followed in his father’s footsteps to be a brilliant sportsman representing st jarlaths college Tuam stars and our local soccer club Tuam Celtic and then in his latter years was big into mountain climbing and hillwalking and to his immense credit he kept it up right up to very recently during his illness which he fought like he did on the sporting fields with immense spirit RIP stockie sham a gentleman you’ll be sadly missed
