Gene Fischer Greene County (OH) Sheriff Cause of Death – Passed Away: GREENE COUNTY, Ohio — Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer tragically passed away on Tuesday evening after a medical emergency. Fischer died about 9 pm while attending a Buckeye State Sheriff Association convention in Sandusky, Ohio.
Fischer was rushed to Firelands Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Fischer, a lifelong resident of Greene County, Ohio graduated from high school in Fairborn in 1974. He also served with Xenia police from 1983 until 2003. He has been with Greene County Sheriff since 2003.

Brian Jarvis wrote on Twitter, “So sad to hear about the death of Greene County (OH) Sheriff Gene Fischer this evening. I knew him for just over a decade, spoke with him often, and considered him a good friend. He was a dedicated law enforcement officer who truly cared for his community. He will be missed.”
Abraham Sandy wrote on Twitter, “Prayers go out to Sheriff Gene Fischer’s family and family. People in Greene County will remember him as a great man and leader in that community. I lived in Greene County back in 2019.”
