Gmail will never keep you out of contact with the help of email notifications. But if you are not getting notifications of Gmail on Android then it is a big issue. Check app notification and system settings

- Open Gmail and tap on the hamburger
- Then, open Settings and select General Settings
- Tap on Manage Notifications and make sure that everything is enabled

Check the Device’s Time Settings

Allow permission to Gmail

- Firstly, open Settings and choose Apps, and go to App Manager
- Manage Apps or All apps
- Now choose and open Gmail and choose Permissions
- Allow the necessary permissions and get back to the apps list

- Set Gmail as the default app of email
Enable Synchronization
Although it is a very basic thing that Gmail users keep the synchronization always enabled but in case if it is disabled by mistake then, it will lead to Gmail not showing notifications on Android issues.
- Open Settings and go to Accounts and Syncs
- Make sure that Auto-sync data is enabled and choose Google
- Find Gmail and ensure that sync for Gmail is enabled
Update Gmail and Device OS
