Countries in the world are still anxiously awaiting the renewal of electronic attacks from the "ransom" virus, after it affected 150 countries, exceeding 200,000 companies and institutions, including Arab countries.

On the other hand, information security experts criticized the lack of coordination and cooperation between the Gulf countries with regard to combating information piracy and electronic attacks, stressing that cooperation between the authorities and countries in the region is in its weakest state, as the parties work separately, without teamwork and joint coordination.

Engineer Amer Al-Bisharat, an information security expert, explained that the electronic attack “ransomware” is the largest of its kind in terms of the size of the targeting, which affected many countries in the world, adding that the initial outcome of the electronic attack amounted to 74 countries in the world and exceeded that number by a lot, stressing the impact Official institutions in many countries of the world, pointing out that the British health sector is one of the victims of the cyber attack.

He pointed out that the last time of the electronic attack was set at dawn (Friday), expecting new waves of the same attack, in addition to the presence of indications of new waves of the Shamoon attack.

He said that the most investment in the Gulf countries is in information security projects, as well as coordination in continuous training, in addition to the fact that the recruitment of trained competencies represents essential steps to communicate with each other to face information security challenges, indicating that in ignoring such steps, cooperation will not be fruitful, stressing The importance of raising awareness before investing in purchasing new insurance devices or systems.

He stressed that the Kingdom is exposed to new electronic attacks, which are expected to be major, as there are indications of new attacks already during the coming period, and it is likely that the upcoming attacks will most likely be more complex, criticizing the failure of most parties to keep pace with the next stage, as they are not sufficiently secure in confronting These challenges.

Nidal Al-Masiri, an "information security expert," said that the mafia or networks deliberately adopt several methods to penetrate websites, and hacking methods are constantly evolving, whether by planting an "internet worm", which is a program that is downloaded on the Internet in specific ways so that it goes to specific servers, and enters through email or a specific photo.

He added that the process of protecting websites takes place through several steps, including keeping a backup copy of the websites periodically so that the data is restored once in the event of a hacking and data erasure, and the process of keeping the backup copy takes place on a daily, weekly or monthly basis according to the strategy of the site supervisor. In addition to that, the other step is represented in securing the programs on the “server”, so that the entrances to the programs are known, as well as immunizing the device used to enter the “server”, in addition to ensuring that the connection is encrypted, and there are many steps.

He stressed the need for a specialized and qualified element to manage websites (security, technical and technical), adding that the process of identifying penetration attempts takes place in several ways, including installing the "firewall" program in order to monitor penetration attempts so that it reveals its source and time, as well as penetration sites, in addition to monitoring the feeder network. "For the server", in addition to the company providing the "server" temporarily disconnecting the service from the targeted websites that are subject to a major attack, or the company deliberately alerting the management of the sites to the presence of an intense load, which suggests an attempt to hack.
