The Communications and Information Technology Commission warned of the danger of hackers accessing personal data, as they collect it in various ways that the user may overlook.
Personal data and its privacy is a goal for every data user in the digital world, and all user data has value even in the simplest things about him, such as: name, age, gender, social status, health status.
The authority gave an example of one of the practices that users can overlook and cause their information to be disclosed, including allowing the sharing of unnecessary access powers to some applications and websites, as hackers collect this data to know the target group and the way to target it.
Regarding the best ways to protect users of their data, the Communications and Information Technology Commission stressed the need to ensure that applications are granted access to the data only necessary to complete the service for the application, and it also advised downloading applications from trusted stores for each system.
And she warned of the need to ensure that applications are updated to the latest version, and to read the terms of use and permissions for applications and websites, directing her advice to the user by saying: “Sharing your data takes place with the click of a button … so be aware when sharing it.”
