How are crowds managed in the Grand Mosque in Mecca? How are thousands of pilgrims and visitors inside the Grand Mosque dealt with, what are the measures taken by the security authorities, and what are their warnings to pilgrims inside the Grand Mosque? Many questions can only be answered by the commander of the special force for the security of the mosque. Al-Haram Brigadier General Yahya Abdul Rahman Al-Aqeel, who confirmed the smooth movement of visitors and pilgrims to the Grand Mosque in Mecca during the first half of Ramadan.
Al-Aqeel confirmed to Okaz the success of crowd management inside and outside the mosque, and we have not recorded any incidents that need to be mentioned until today, other than some simple cases of fatigue for the elderly and the sick.
Al-Aqeel added: There are organizational measures that are taken, including relying on warning signs that are used in the event that any site in the Haram is full and give an alert that the Haram is full so that they can be directed towards other sites. This is to achieve safety and ease of movement for the Umrah performer or visitor and all those present in the Grand Mosque.
The commander of the Special Force for Umrah Security at the Grand Mosque stressed that the crowd management plan inside the halls of the Grand Mosque and the Sacred Court is represented in preventing prayer or waiting in the Sacred Court, and the circumambulation paths in the ground floor, the first floor and the roof of the Grand Mosque, and there is also a careful follow-up of the capacity of the Grand Mosque through television monitoring. Represented in the main operations room, pointing out that the organizational process is represented in organizing the entry and exit process to and from the Grand Mosque through the main and secondary doors and through the escalators, stressing that after the Tarawih prayer ends, entry is temporarily prohibited and more exit is given to the worshipers so that their safety is preserved. from overlapping or scrambling.
Brigadier General Al-Aqeel warned of the need to take care of children, pointing to finding some of the missing children who do not have phone numbers for their parents, nor do they have any information about them that would facilitate access to them in the event of loss. A prominent place to make it easy to reach them in case of need or loss, and we also appeal to cooperate with the security men in the organizations, especially praying in the funeral dish, in order to preserve the safety of everyone.
