Instagram has revealed a slew of new features for Reels, including a new way to edit videos and find trending content.
The biggest change lies in the video editing process, as users will now be able to edit video clips, audio, stickers, and text overlays on the same screen instead of having to do so in separate steps, as well as the schedule editing feature similar to what TikTok has, which helps in dealing with With audio and video clips and making transitions smoother.
Instagram users will also have a new way to find popular videos, as trends and challenges that are easy to recreate are part of TikTok's massive reach.
The new Reels page will collect popular hashtags and songs on Instagram, along with the number of videos using that specific audio, and users can then save the audio for later or apply it directly to their video.
The update also includes tools for content creators to analyze the performance of their content and engage with fans. A new addition to the analytics dashboard will show the total time an audience spends watching a video, including replays, as well as the average video watch time, and will notify a creator when a new follower finds them through a video.
The creator will also be able to see which followers have given them a gift by clicking on the heart icon.
