The Jacqueline Sauvage case had been made public before becoming a real societal business. A victim of domestic violence for years, she had been sentenced in 2015 to 10 years in prison for killing her husband executioner. A judicial decision that caused the outrage and mobilization of an entire population. Faced with this unprecedented uprising, President François Hollande decided in January 2016 to grant a partial pardon to Jacqueline Sauvage before giving her full pardon in December.
