János M. Bak was professor emeritus CEU (Budapest) and UBC (Vancouver) is editor in chief of Decreta Regni Mediaevalis Hungariae, he was the founding father of Medieval Studies CEU.
Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

Just found out that János M. Bak has died. He was one of the leading historians of medieval Hungary and I had the privilege of meeting him on a few occasions. Here we are in Rijeka in 2014. Despite of his advanced age he was a big presence in medieval studies and will be missed.
