John Odom Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Odom.

All of us at Madison Magazine are saddened to hear of Dr. John Y. Odom’s passing. Dr. Odom was president of Odom & Associates, a life member of the NAACP, and a past president of the local branch of the NAACP. He founded several local organizations and initiatives, including the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute, a teaching center to promote economic independence among Black youth. He served on a number of boards in Madison, including the Urban League, Schools of Hope, Dane County Big Brothers and Sisters, and Edgewood High School. Madison Magazine was lucky enough to publish a piece written by Odom in our August 2020 issue after John Roach asked him to open that month’s column on the back page.

Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.

More details have not been released about this death, and the actual death age and date are yet to confirmed by us. We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
