This weekend, Heaven welcomed a foundational member of the Spirit Family home. Judy Peart passed away on August 29th, at the age of 79. She and her late husband Bob Peart founded the ministry of KDUV / Spirit 88.9, nearly three decades ago, with a passion to tell the Central Valley about the good news of Jesus, and introduce Christian music and messages over the airwaves. Over the years, she was an integral part of serving the station, local churches, and participating in ministries that reached out to the lost, especially to women in jail and recovery. Even up through these last few months, Judy served on the ministry’s board, and visited the station regularly to connect with, pray for, and minister to everyone who made up the Spirit Family. Judy’s faithfulness to follow God’s calling is evident in the life she lived. Her impact on the lives of thousands of people, over multiple generations, through the songs and messages on Spirit are an incredible legacy, and we are so thankful and honored to continue that mission. If the “Welcome Home” party Jesus is throwing includes a guest list of everyone who’s life was forever changed by her work on this earth, we can only imagine how great it must be. We would love to hear from you how your life was touched, or changed through Spirit or any of Judy’s efforts. We can think of no greater way to thank her and honor her this week.
